Breakin
Breakout, with the one rule it is built on turned around.
The ball destroys nothing. Every time it bounces — off a wall, off a block, off your
paddle — the square it just left turns solid forever. Nothing is ever cleared. There
are no bricks to remove and no level to finish.
So instead of opening the field up, you spend the whole run closing it down. The
arena crusts over as you rally, the space you have to work with shrinks, and you get
exactly one life.
WHAT ACTUALLY KILLS YOU
Not missing. Most runs end because the ball walled itself into a pocket it could not
get back out of.
That makes the correct instinct from Breakout — sliding under the ball and meeting it
dead centre — actively wrong here. A centred hit sends it straight back the way it
came, into the wall it just built. The angle you give the ball is the whole game.
SCORING
Your score is the number of blocks you generated times the ball-speed multiplier you
set before starting.
A faster ball is worth more per block, and it kills you sooner. At the low end you
will survive several times longer for a fraction of the multiplier, and the two ends
work out closer than you would expect. The slider is a wager you make before the run,
not a difficulty setting, and it locks once you start.
LEADERBOARD AND COMPETITIVE
There is a shared leaderboard with no sign-in — finish a run, type a name, and you
are on it. Everyone gets the same starting ball each day, so the daily board is a
fair race rather than a list of whoever got lucky.
There is also a competitive mode: send someone a link, you each play your own arena,
and the higher score wins.
